If you’re going through Hell, keep going –Winston Churchill
With today’s economy and uncertain times, people are in a state of contentment with “I am happy to have a job” mindset. Then there are people who are out of work and want a job but cannot get one. Well, this blog is for the people who want more than a job (if you love your job, wonderful!) and now is the time to act upon it. Catching Hell But Still Producing: What Will You Do in the Midst of the Storm? Is for the person who is willing to step out of their comfort zone and use the gifts and talent that God has blessed them with. But there is also another thing I must warn you about when pursuing your dream, you will catch hell for striving towards your dream. Dr. Myles Munroe once said “If you confess it, it must be tested.” People claim they want to be millionaires but don’t want to do the things necessary to be a millionaire. People want the degree but don’t want to finish school, or want to look like Angelina Jolie but don’t want to exercise. Why is that? Because you simply have to go through hell to get where God want you to be. Some people go through things in life and their whole life stop. Some people have nervous breakdowns, leave their families and go to other cities to live and even commit suicide. But there is another kind of person (yes, you reading this blog) who can handle adversity and still manage your business, write the book, finish the degree and raise the kids as a single parent. You are catching hell, but still producing.
I would like for the reader to understand that everyone have a gift. Some people are great singers; others are good at writing and others are good teachers. My brother and I once had a phone conversation about everyone having gifts and talents and he didn’t believe that everyone had them. I told him that everyone does have gifts and talents and his response was “If everyone has talent, then why isn’t everyone using them?” in a bewildered kind of tone. My answer was “because people don’t want to go through the process to get where they need to go. That makes the difference between the haves and the have not’s.” Then on the other line my brother speak with a sigh of relief “oh, I understand what you are saying now.”
I do believe at the core of a man or woman that everyone wants to do well and want to help others. But then life happens; marriage, bills, children and work sometimes gets in the way so we put our dreams on hold. If we do get back into the habit of pursuing our dreams sooner or later we find out that it’s not as easy as we thought. No matter what happens life waits for no one. So in the midst of working, children, spouses, bills, etc… you are trying to birth something but then your spouse loses faith in you and your project because it isn’t “producing” or bringing in the income like they thought it should, what are you going to do? Or your job let you go unexpectedly; what are you going to do after they let you go? Catching Hell But Still Producing is basically saying you have to keep on living and fighting for your dreams despite the house going into foreclosure or your spouse leaving you or that boyfriend you thought was going to marry you and he changed his mind. As my pastor once taught a message saying “you have to function in failure” in other words life goes on despite setbacks and disappointments. Even Jesus said “in the world you’ll have trouble. But cheer up! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (GW)
So don’t give up despite of your situation! God is not finished with you yet…lace up your shoestrings and get back in the game; keep your head up and smile again. There are people depending on you; you are a son or daughter of the King.
Let us go for our dreams, no matter the cost! Let’s get it!
