“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways” -James 1:5-8
Do you struggle with procrastination? Are you “double-minded?” If so, just know that these are tricks of the enemy to keep you living an average life. Keeping you locked in indecision is his goal, because the devil knows that time is more important than money. Whether we’re trying to decide if we should go back to school, start a business, marry a certain person, or even read the Bible, most of us ponder these questions entirely too long. Seeking God for the answers will ensure that we don’t waste valuable time.
Are you procrastinating because you didn’t hear from God and are afraid of making the wrong decision? We need to step out on faith in some instances, because the situation will never be perfect. When we spend too much time internally debating a situation, chances are we will end up rationalizing our way out of making a decision. True leaders know how to make a decision and live with the results, no matter if it’s wrong or right. We all make mistakes; however the key is to learn from our mistakes. Show me someone who has never made a wrong decision, and I’ll show you someone who hasn’t made a decision.
Having to make decisions sometimes strikes fear into peoples’ hearts. But if you align your decision with God’s Word, He will honor it. You can only aim for so long…pull the trigger!
