Things Husbands Can Do To Keep Their Wives Interested

I wrote a blog last month entitled “Things a Wife Can Do to Keep Her Husband Interested” and there was a lot of traffic to it. So you know the next question from wives was, “When are you going to write one for the husbands?”  Since I’m fair, here it is:

Provide for her

You don’t have to be a millionaire in order to provide for your family, but wives LOVE it when their husbands work to provide an income.  The Bible states in 1 Timothy 5:8, “But those who won’t care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. Such people are worse than unbelievers.” It’s difficult for a wife to disrespect her husband when he is providing for their family on a regular basis. There’s no quicker way for a wife to lose respect for her husband than for him to refuse to work.

Protect her

You will definitely keep her attention when she feels protected by you. When I say “protect” I’m not just talking about from physical harm. Protect her with your words of encouragement, love, and assurance.  Marrying her in and of itself is a form of protection, because by doing so you let her know that you didn’t just want to date her forever. Proverbs 18:21 states, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” Husbands, when was the last time you told your wife that she’s beautiful and you can’t live without her? Protect her by making sure she knows that you will never cheat on her, leave her, or tear her down verbally.

Be spontaneous!

Clean up the house before she gets home from work and help the kids with their homework. Then make her dinner, run her bathwater, and fix her favorite cup of tea while soft jazz music plays in the background. Your wife will be grateful and always on her toes because she doesn’t know what you’re going to do next! Let’s be honest, marriage is work, but if you don’t put the necessary work into your marriage it will die. The benefits of marriage are well worth the sacrifice. Constantly evolving for the better will always keep your wife’s attention.
